Geoffrey Bremer New President of CalCPA Los Angeles Chapter REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Geoffrey Bremer, CPA, of Manhattan Beach has been elected president of the 10,000-member Los Angeles Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) for 2005–06. Bremer succeeds Mark Dauberman, CPA, of Los Angeles. Previously Bremer was the chapter’s first vice president. The CalCPA Los Angeles chapter serves CPAs who specialize in a broad range of services — from business consulting and personal financial planning to tax and estate planning. Some of the activities the chapter plans for the coming months include a meet-the-firms evening, a joint meeting with the Los Angeles County Bar Association to review new tax legislation and a meeting about the state of the economy. Bremer is a partner in the Los Angeles firm of Wind Bremer Hockenberg LLP. He is responsible for the firm’s tax department, including overseeing the preparation of all returns and reviewing all transactions for their tax consequences. Joining Bremer on the board of the CalCPA Los Angeles Chapter are Timothy Good (first vice president) of Windes & McLaughry Accountancy, Torrance; James Gellas (vice president) of Rothstein Kass, Los Angeles; Jonathan Karp (vice president) of Reish Luftman Reicher & Cohen, Los Angeles; John Samore III (secretary), Santa Monica; and Violeta Cristobal (treasurer/budget chair) of Cristobal & Co., Los Angeles.
