Modesto CPA Elected President Of CalCPA San Joaquin Chapter

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Lisa Silva, a Modesto CPA, has been elected president of the San Joaquin Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) for 2005–06. Silva succeeds Thomas Vermeulen, CPA, of Modesto.

Previously Silva was the chapter’s vice president and secretary-treasurer.

The CalCPA San Joaquin Chapter serves about 500 members in Calaveras, Mariposa, Merced, Mono, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties. They specialize in a broad range of services — from business consulting and personal financial planning to tax and estate planning. Some of the activities the chapter plans for the coming months include a golf tournament and a student-faculty night.

A resident of Turlock, Silva prepares income tax returns and financial statements and provides consultation services to small businesses.

Prior to joining Hamilton & Co, Silva worked for another Modesto CPA firm. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Stanislaus.

Joining Silva on the board of the CalCPA San Joaquin Chapter is Mark Croce (vice president) of Croce & Co., Stockton, and Mark Schlegelmilch (secretary-treasurer) of Moss Adams, LLP, Valley Springs.
