Greetings San Diego chapter of CalCPA! I'm excited to be your SD Chapter President for the 2022-23 year. First off, I’d like to thank this past year’s leadership team and all other CalCPA members who volunteered your time to make this past year a success. It was a pleasure working under the leadership of Outgoing President Will King.
Looking back at the path I have taken within CalCPA to become president, one metric/mantra has always stood out to me when gauging the value of my membership with CalCPA. The more active I was in my involvement and efforts within the society, the more valuable my perception of a CalCPA membership became. This included but was not limited to networking events, volunteering opportunities, mentoring efforts and leadership programs. I’d like to challenge every member to identify one new thing during this year to get involved with via CalCPA that you have never done in the past. This can be anything from attending a new event to volunteering with Junior Achievements teaching children financial literacy. I believe the impact would be HUGE if all of our roughly 4,000 members achieved this goal.
As president, I'm committed to making this year successful by increasing the awareness of the opportunities to maximize the value of your CalCPA membership. I'm establishing an “open door” policy for all members to contact me personally with new ideas, critiques for improving outdated events, different approaches to provide additional membership value and any other questions/comments you may have regarding CalCPA. My email address is bcarpenter@lz-cpa.com.
